base soil maps (at 1:10,000; 1:50,000; 1:200,000; 1:500,000 and 1:1,000,000) and

thematic soil maps (for soil erosion, waterlogging, salinity & sodicity, etc.)

irrigation,

artificial drainage,

erosion control,

soil tillage,

agricultural and horticultural land use (for orchards and vineyards),

soil vulnerability to chemical and physical contaminants,

soil vulnerability to drought stress and to acidification.
