Pedological characterization in aim of agricultural land use restructuring and resource conservation at different levels (village, county and nation-wide scale);
Developing drought response units characterizing the sensitivity of land units to water stresses; Assessment of desertification risk and prevention;
Development of expert systems and decision support systems on sustainable land use planning and technological recommendation;
Evaluation of the quality of the soil resources and establishing measures for their protection, conservation and amelioration;
